Compensationlevels
Climate.aero offers a range of compensation/membership tiers tailored to individuals and organizations in the aviation sector, accommodating diverse preferences and needs. From the Free Plan, allowing non-validated third-party compensation, to the Platinum Membership with SAF credits and offsetting, each tier supports environmental sustainability. Let's explore the options:
Under the free plan, aircraft owners can customize their fuelflow profile to influence the calculated emissions displayed on their aircraft profile page. Additionally, owners can publish third-party compensation data, detailing monthly carbon credit purchases for their aircraft through other compensation programs. However, this must be supported by evidence such as invoices and calculations. Climate.aero conducts random checks on this data but cannot provide statements about its accuracy.
Bronze members can showcase third-party compensation efforts on the platform. They undergo the same credibility assessment of their third-party statements as Silver, Gold, and Platinum members. Additionally, they receive a personalized QR Logo directing viewers to their aircraft page, highlighting their compensation efforts. Furthermore, Bronze members have the option to order stickers and plexiglass plates with their personal QR code.
Silver members benefit from Climate.aero's 'Set and Forget' service, where the entire process of calculating, purchasing carbon credits, and reporting is managed by Climate.aero. They only compensate for the CO2 emitted by their fuel burn.
Private aviation's environmental impact extends beyond CO2 emissions, with non-CO2 factors contributing to two-thirds of the climate impact, as indicated in the 2022 IPCC report. In order to achieve climate neutrality, Gold members purchase carbon credits equivalent to 300% of their fuel burn emissions, thereby offsetting both CO2 and non-CO2 effects.
Platinum members take the greatest responsibility for the climate impact of private flying. They are aware that some groups in society perceive offsetting as a form of greenwashing, primarily due to its indirect relationship with emissions neutralization. Nevertheless, Platinum members understand the importance of actively reducing their environmental impact. To address this, they adopt a dual approach, incorporating direct reduction via Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) credits (Inset) alongside offsetting. This illustrates their unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility while also acknowledging and responding to concerns raised within society.
Note: all features in the Bronze membership are also available for Silver, Gold and Platinum members.

Private Aircraft Climate Program

Climate.aero is a startup with a clear mission: to lead the general aviation industry towards a greener future by empowering aircraft owners with eco-conscious solutions. Our dedicated team is committed to pioneering innovative services that prioritize environmental sustainability and efficiency. At Climate.aero, we don't just promote eco-friendly practices; we facilitate aircraft owners in adopting them.
Are you a private aircraft owner or operator wondering if Climate.aero is the right fit for you? Our services are tailored specifically for individuals and organizations in the private aviation sector. It's our goal to facilitate aircraft owners and operators with the most advanced tools for becoming climate neutral.
At this moment, we do not offer a service yet for passengers wishing to offset a single flight. However, stay tuned for updates as we continue to expand our offerings to better serve your needs.
If you opt for our 'set and forget' compensation program, we offer three compensation levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum Partner. With this program, you will only be billed for compensation when your aircraft has been flying, eliminating fixed costs. Additionally, we handle all the calculations and procurement of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) credits and voluntary carbon credits on your behalf.
It's worth noting that the cost for compensating is very small compared to the total operation costs of an aircraft, typically representing only a few percent of the total. When you decide to 'start compensating,' you can easily obtain a cost estimation tailored to your particular aircraft and average number of flights per month. This process involves just a few simple steps, and the cost estimation is completely free and non-binding.
For aircraft owners already utilizing a third-party compensation program, we offer the option to publish their compensation amounts for free. If you wish to have these figures accredited by us, a small membership fee is charged.
Using Climate.aero to document CO2 compensation enhances an aircraft's reputation and can increase its resale value. An aircraft with a proven compensation history not only benefits the current owner's reputation but also positively impacts the reputation of any future owner, making it more valuable than a similar aircraft without such a history.
