Empowering Transparency and Sustainability in the Aviation Industry

The Netherlands, May 21, 2024 – We mark the official launch of Climate.aero, a pioneering startup from The Netherlands, designed to address the growing concerns regarding the climate impact of general and business aviation. As the spotlight on environmental responsibility intensifies, Climate.aero offers a free and comprehensive service for aircraft owners, enabling transparent public reporting of their carbon emissions.

In response to increasing public criticism and regulatory scrutiny, Climate.aero has curated a database encompassing more than 200,000 private aircraft. Leveraging this extensive data, the service calculates carbon emissions for the majority of these aircraft, providing owners and operators with critical insights into their environmental impact.

Key features of Climate.aero include:

1.     Free Public Transparency Reporting: Aircraft owners can utilize Climate.aero's platform at no cost to publicly disclose their carbon emissions, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship.

2.     Integration with Third-Party Compensation Programs: For those already engaged in carbon offsetting through external programs, Climate.aero facilitates the publication of these efforts, ensuring comprehensive and accessible reporting.

3.     Set and Forget Service: Climate.aero simplifies the emissions management process with its 'set and forget' service. This feature handles the entire spectrum of emissions calculation and the procurement of carbon and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) credits on behalf of customers.

4.     Personalized Badge of Honour: To recognize and promote the sustainability efforts of its users, Climate.aero provides a personalized badge of honour complete with a QR code. This badge can be displayed on websites, in mailings, and across print media, serving as a testament to the user’s commitment to mitigating their carbon footprint.

Climate.aero is also excited to announce its participation in the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) from May 28 to May 30, 2024, in Geneva. Attendees are invited to visit our booth to learn more about our innovative services and commitment to sustainability in aviation.

"Climate.aero is dedicated to fostering a culture of transparency and accountability within the aviation sector," said Florian Albers, Founder and CEO of Climate.aero. "Our platform not only simplifies the complex process of carbon emissions reporting and offsetting but also empowers aircraft owners and operators to showcase their sustainability efforts proudly."

As Climate.aero continues to innovate and expand its services, it remains steadfast in its mission to support the aviation industry in its journey towards greater environmental responsibility and sustainability.

Climate.aero is a startup with a clear mission: to lead the general aviation industry towards a greener future by empowering aircraft owners with eco-conscious solutions. Our dedicated team is committed to pioneering innovative services that prioritize environmental sustainability and efficiency. At Climate.aero, we don't just promote eco-friendly practices; we facilitate aircraft owners in adopting them.

More about Climate.aero

Are you a private aircraft owner or operator wondering if Climate.aero is the right fit for you? Our services are tailored specifically for individuals and organizations in the private aviation sector. It's our goal to facilitate aircraft owners and operators with the most advanced tools for becoming climate neutral.

At this moment, we do not offer a service yet for passengers wishing to offset a single flight. However, stay tuned for updates as we continue to expand our offerings to better serve your needs.

See if Climate.aero is right for you

If you opt for our 'set and forget' compensation program, we offer three compensation levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum Partner. With this program, you will only be billed for compensation when your aircraft has been flying, eliminating fixed costs. Additionally, we handle all the calculations and procurement of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) credits and voluntary carbon credits on your behalf.

It's worth noting that the cost for compensating is very small compared to the total operation costs of an aircraft, typically representing only a few percent of the total. When you decide to 'start compensating,' you can easily obtain a cost estimation tailored to your particular aircraft and average number of flights per month. This process involves just a few simple steps, and the cost estimation is completely free and non-binding.

For aircraft owners already utilizing a third-party compensation program, we offer the option to publish their compensation amounts for free. If you wish to have these figures accredited by us, a small membership fee is charged.

Using Climate.aero to document CO2 compensation enhances an aircraft's reputation and can increase its resale value. An aircraft with a proven compensation history not only benefits the current owner's reputation but also positively impacts the reputation of any future owner, making it more valuable than a similar aircraft without such a history.
